RS Models 92088 - Doflug D-3802/D-3803 1/72
The Swiss DoFlug (Dornier Werke) was asked to develop a fighter in 1942. The D-3802 was of all-metal, stressed-skin construction, but broadly based on the {D-3801}, a license-built Morane-Saulnier MS 412. The engine was a copy of the French Hispano-Suiza 12Y. The prototype flew in 1944 and first production aircraft were delivered in 1946. Only 12 were built, and these served until 1946.
3 decal variants:
1. Doflug Do 3802, J-401, 1st Prototype, 1944
2. Doflug Do 3802, J-403, Dübendorf Airfield
3. Doflug Do 3802, J-414, UeG St. 17, 1950
This was decided in the spring of 1940, when Germany invaded Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, despite the declared neutrality of these countries. This in the middle of the 20th century, Switzerland was also interested, and believed that the improvement of the aircraft fleet would be enough every 10-12 years. As a result of this policy, the Swiss Air Force in 1938, as the main fighter aircraft already obsolete Dewoitine D-27, manufactured under license EADS EFW. The mountainous territories of Switzerland were indeed very difficult territories for a possible attack, but the basic element of effective defense was to maintain air superiority.
